About SharonLove

Sharonlove Calaguas-Larsen is a Holistic Chef from Bauman College-Holistic Culinary Arts. A cultural food researcher and educator, and lifelong advocate for nourishment that heals both body and spirit. Her journey began in the Philippines, where at a very young age and out of survival, she learned the power of food through caring for her family with very close guidance and teachings in farming and cooking from her beloved Lola Mameng as well as a food vendor with her aunt Bebe. What started as necessity became a lifelong passion to understand how food connects health, heritage, and humanity.

With roots that span the Philippine Archipelago and travels that have taken her across
continents, Sharonlove has spent decades learning from farmers, cooks, and communities—discovering how food shapes culture, emotion, and identity.

With local government fundings, grants, scholarships, Philippines Army training she worked her way through college by working nightshifts at cafes, bistros, and high-end restaurants where she initially received her very first formal mentorship from owners, chefs, and true masters of the culinary arts.

Here in the USA, from working as line cook from off the wall places to casinos to lead cook at homecares, her most recent was a four year position as a Districtwide Chef for Lyon County School District.

She has further specialized Micro-credentials in Food in Culture and Social Justice which
centers on food security and sovereignty—advocating for equitable access to nutritious food for women and children.

Her academic journey combines interdisciplinary studies in BS Bio-Agriculture (Minor in
Nutritional Science) and BS Bio-Cultural Anthropology and is currently completing her MA
Anthropology of Food / MA Food Studies at Oregon State University.

She brings together science, heritage, and heart. She teaches how to use whole foods to
support hormone balance, calm the nervous system, and rediscover joy in the kitchen—without restriction or guilt. Her approach celebrates flavor, culture, and community, reminding everyone that nourishing themselves is an act of strength and self-love, keeping in mind what good healthy food is supposed to taste like.

“Nutritious food shouldn’t be a privilege—it should be a right.”

Through her classes, mentorship, and advocacy, Sharonlove helps everyone reconnect with
food as medicine, memory, and empowerment—one delicious meal at a time.
