Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
For the Bangers (sausages):

6 pork sausages

1 tbsp cooking oil

Salt & pepper (optional)
For the Mash:

4–5 medium potatoes
-
2 tbsp butter
-
½ cup milk
-
Salt to taste
For the Onion Gravy:
-
1 onion (sliced)
-
1 tbsp butter or oil
-
1 tbsp flour
-
1 cup beef or chicken stock
-
Salt & pepper
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Sausages

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a frying pan on medium heat.

Add the sausages and cook slowly, turning every few minutes.

Let them cook for about 15–20 minutes until brown and fully cooked through.

Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and cut potatoes into chunks.
-
Add them to a pot of boiling water and cook for 10–15 minutes, until soft when poked with a fork.

Drain the water.
-
Add butter, milk, and salt.
-
Mash until smooth and creamy.
Step 3: Make the Onion Gravy

In a pan, heat 1 tbsp butter or oil.

Add sliced onions and fry until soft and golden.

Sprinkle 1 tbsp flour over the onions and stir for 1 minute.

Slowly pour in the stock while stirring to remove lumps.

Let it simmer for 5 minutes until thick.

Add a little salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4: Serve Everything

Place a scoop of mashed potatoes on the plate.

Add the sausages beside or on top.

Pour the warm onion gravy over everything.
